Dominique Chickens

Dominique Chickens are an American breed that has been here since the late 1700's. Some people consider them to be the oldest American breed. They can be easily mistaken for Barred Rock Chickens with their black and white barred plumage. One main difference is the shape of the comb. Dominique chickens have a rose comb, whereas, Barred Rock chickens have serrated combs. They are used for both meat and eggs, but primarily are layers. Hens can lay between 230-275 eggs a year.
